What happens in Parliament when Rahul, Sonia are absent
July 23, 2014  16:39
Sonia Gandhi was absent in Parliament today. And yes, so was Rahul Gandhi. And when that happens, dear reader, there is no coordination between Mallikarjuna Kharge -- the leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha and Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Today, the party faced a major embarrassment when they walked out on the issue of a Muslim catering contractor being force-fed by Shiv Sena MP Rajan Vichare at the Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi when he was fasting for Ramzan.

Sushma Swaraj and M Venkaiah Naidu appealed to Kharge to return to  House.

It was pathetic to witness the dismal scene from the press gallery of Scindia and  Kharge arguing. Scindia saw it from the point of view of North Indian politics and wanted to stage a walkout, while Kharge did not as the Congress is ruling in Karnataka.

Kharge's toll in the Lok Sabha is being felt by Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah in the state assembly.
