The Lok Sabha House Committee has rejected the plea of Rahul Gandhi for a second government bungalow. Rahul wrote to Speaker Sumitra Mahajan seeking special permission from her to have second bungalow for guests. The Speaker, however, is bound by the recommendations of the House Committee.

In the UPA regime, there were out-of-turn allotments of many guest houses at the recommendations of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

But the new BJP regime is examining the earlier allotments made on discretionary powers and of course, Rahul Gandhi's letter opened has a Pandora's box.
