Michelle Obama prefers a quick lunch for Modi over state dinner

Since the last couple of days there has been some amount of panic among the team handling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's forthcoming visit to New York and Washington, DC, reports an India Abroad correspondent.

Some urgent messages and SOS were exchanged last weekend between the teams in New Delhi and Washington, DC, after it became known to the Indian side that US First Lady Michelle Obama prefers that her husband host a "quick lunch" for his guest Modi rather than an elaborate high-profile dinner during the latter's Washington, DC, visit this September.

Modi is likely to visit Washington, DC, after attending the United Nations General Assembly session in New York.
