Govt confirms NO Indians among passengers on board MH17

The Indian government has now confirmed that there were NO Indian passengers on board MH17. All 298 people on board the Malaysia Airlines plane were killed on Thursday after the jet was shot down by "terrorists" over war-torn eastern Ukraine near the Russian border.

So far, what we have of the passenger list is this: 154 were Dutch, 27 were Australian, 23 were from Malaysia, 11 were Indonesian, six were British, four were German, another four were from Belgium, three were from the Philippines and one was Canadian.

European flight safety body Eurocontrol says Ukrainian authorities have closed the airspace in the east of the country to all airline flights. It said all flight plans that use routes in the area are being rejected.
