Hours after some political leaders demanded that senior journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik be prosecuted over his meeting with terror chief and his comments on Kashmir, Vaidik has slammed the government.

He said that the government was targeting him without actually hearing his entire interview. He said that he had never said that Kashmir should be made a separate state. He said that if his comments on Kashmir were heard in full, they would garland him instead of hitting out at him.

When asked how he felt about Bharatiya Janata Party's Subramaniam Swamy's demand for his prosecution, Vaidik said, "Subramanian Swamy is my close friend,he is a patriotic man, I don't feel bad about what he says.'
