July 05, 2014  11:39
Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy is at the Kochi airport to receive
the 46 Indian nurses who are on their way there from Mumbai.  The flight, which took off from Erbil in Iraq, had made a 'technical halt' in Mumbai for refuelling and catering supplies this Morning

"I am relieved. Not only me, but everyone in Kerala," Chandy said.

The nurses were freed by Sunni militant group ISIS yesterday evening. The aircraft was initially denied permission to land. This could be due to an 'information deficit' or because of security concerns in the troubled region, said sources.
