Pakistan lodges protest with US over snooping reports

Pakistan today lodged a protest with the US over reports that a leading political party in the country was put under surveillance by an American spy agency. According to media reports the National Security Agency had spied on Pakistan Peoples Party.

The PPP figures in the list of foreign political parties along with the BJP of India, Lebanon's Amal, Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood on whom the NSA was given permission to carry out surveillance, says a document made public on Monday by The Washington Post.
