India to protest after report that US agency spied on BJP

 India will lodge a strong protest today with the US after a report that its National Security Agency was allowed to snoop on the BJP.India's ruling party was among six political outfits in the world that National Security Agency or NSA was allowed to spy upon, according to classified documents reportedly leaked by whistleblower Edward Snowden.

 

"India will lodge a protest today, the modalities are being worked out," top sources told NDTV.

 

According to documents made public by Washington Post on Monday, BJP is listed along with the Pakistan People's Party and Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood among outfits for whom the NSA had sought permission to carry out surveillance.
