Govt steps in to curb price rise

Finally, the government has stepped in to curb inflation. The Cabinet has decided to bring onions and potatoes under the Essential Commodities Act.

"States have been told to crack down on hoarders. There is enough onion and potato in the country; there is no need to panic," said Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.

"The current inflation is a result of UPA 10 year misrule," he added.
