Chennai building collapse: Death toll rises to 24

Three days after an under-construction building came crashing down in Chennai, the death toll has risen to 24. Meanwhile, 24 people have been rescued so far. Among those rescued is an Andhra Pradresh worker who was pulled out alive on Tuesday morning. But over 20 are still trapped under the debris.

 

NDRF teams are continuing with search operations. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has blamed the builder for violating all norms. The police have arrested six people including the real estate developer for negligence.
