Anti-Arunachal Pradesh economic blockade continues
January 31, 2014  21:59
The indefinite economic blockade against Arunachal Pradesh, in protest against the killing of 10 people in the state on January 29, today affected the supply of goods to the hill state.

At least 25 loaded trucks bound for the neighbouring state were detained by the blockade sponsors Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti and some other organisations, official sources said.

The trucks were carrying essential commodities, including foodstuff, petrol and diesel from Tezpur, Nagaon and Lakhimpur districts of Assam, they said, adding the economic blockade had affected the supply of goods to Itanagar, Naharlagun and East Siang, West Siang, Along and Pasighat.
