Karat criticises Mamata govt over rising rape cases

CPI-M General Secretary Prakash Karat today criticised the Trinamool Congress led government in West Bengal for the rise in incidents of rape in the state.

"It is shocking that the Trinamool Congress government led by Mamata Banerjee is not considering the incidents of rapes and gang rapes seriously," Karat told reporters.

"We expect the government will take firm action against the culprits,' he said.
