CNN-IBN reports: New details have been emerging in the Lajpat Nagar robbery case where about Rs 8 crore were stolen from a Honda City car in broad daylight.

Investigations now reveal that this car was used by Vindu Dara Singh when he was arrested by the Mumbai Police in connection with the IPL betting case in May 2013.

The robbery has brought spotlight on the victim, Rajesh Kalra, who was also named in the 2000 Hansie Cronje match-fixing scandal.

Police suspect that Kalra is still active in the betting circuit and that the money was being used as a hawala pay-off for illegal betting.

The police have also zeroed in on Kalra's driver and are investigating him. They are also conducting raids across Haryana, including Rohtak, in connection with the case.
