Kannada film industry bandh today

The Kannada film industry has called for a bandh on Monday to voice its protest against dubbing of other language films into Kannada.

Briefing reporters, film industry members said the main intention behind the bandh was to save the Kannada film industry.

Producer Sa Ra Govindu said: We will hold a protest at the Mysore Bank Circle and no films would be screened at theatres across the State. Many Kannada organisations will join the protest.

Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj stressed the need for unity among artistes during the protest. All artistes should come forward and protest against dubbing. A few producers are indulging in pro-dubbing activity and we will not allow them to succeed, he added.
