President Pranab: Perform or perish at 2014 LS polls

"Every election comes with a warning: perform or perish," President Pranab Mukherjee said during his address to the nation on the eve of Republic Day.

He also talked about the "trust deficit" among those in office and the people, saying the government must work towards reducing the deficit.

The President also warned lawmakers that "Those who seek the trust of voters must promise only what is possible".

"We cannot let India down. It is time for introspection and action," he said.
