Japan's PM announces $2 bn loan for Delhi Metro expansion

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe today announced a loan of $2 billion for the third phase expansion of Delhi Metro that would add another 103 km to the network.

Abe made the announcement after a summit meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The cost of the third phase expansion of Delhi Metro has been estimated at Rs 35,242 crore.
