China defends air defence zone

China today defended its establishment of an air defence zone over islands disputed with Japan following Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's remarks that Beijing was forcibly changing the status quo in the East China Sea.        

Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang voiced "strong dissatisfaction" over Abe's comments made in Parliament, saying Japan was "not entitled" to criticise Beijing's actions.
