Presidents of nations writing their memoirs is not uncommon, what is is one of them subscribing to witchcraft.

Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, president of Indonesia, in his recently-published memoirs, Selalu Ada Pilihan (There is Always a Choice), recalls an incident at his home involving his wife.

'Suddenly, my wife screamed,' Yudhoyono writes, 'There was this thick dark cloud hovering beneath the ceiling, trying to enter my bedroom. I then asked everybody to pray to seek Allah's help. I closed the door to my room but left others wide open. The revolving clouds eventually headed out of my house.'

Although home to the world's largest Muslim population and despite being prohibited by Islam, witchcraft is commonly accepted in Indonesia. In fact, Susilo is said to be living in his private residence and not the presidential palace owing to the belief that the latter is haunted.
