Sunanda Pushkar's death will require her husband Shashi Tharoor to give the police a detailed statement.

Her death will be investigated as the criminal case.

The Indian Penal Code and the sections of the Dowry Act require the police to investigate the cause of woman's death if she dies in abnormal circumstances within seven years of marriage.

If it is proved that the woman died due to cruelty or harassment by her husband or her relative then it is an offense under the Indian law.

Pushkar has died under very charged state of mind and before her death she shared her private details with many journalists.

Tharoor will have to face tough legal questions.
