Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place for Jaipur Literature Festival, which begins tomorrow, to deal with any untoward situation as witnessed earlier.

A reserved staff of police officials in plain clothes will be inside the venue so that any untoward situation can be handled effectively, police said. "We gave permission to the organisers on condition that no unwarranted event takes place during the festival.

"The organisers also said that they have asked the participants to be careful and not to do anything which might lead to a problem," a senior police officer told PTI. "As of now, we have deployed policemen for the purpose of regulation in and around the venue. Male and female staff in plain cloths will be inside and a reserved staff will also be there for contingency," he said.
