US express concern over China's hypersonic cruise missile test

Expressing concern over China's hypersonic cruise missile test, top American lawmakers have said the Asia-Pacific region is fast becoming a powder keg.        

In a statement, the House Armed Services Committee Chairman Howard 'Buck' McKeon, Congressman Randy Forbes and Mike Rogers said this situation does nothing to support peaceful coexistence in the Pacific.        

"While round after round of defence cuts have knocked America's technological advantage on its back, the Chinese and other competitor nations push towards military parity with the United States; in some cases, as in this one, they appear to be leaping ahead of us," three Congressmen said.
