Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said today that adequate supply of energy at affordable prices is critical for growth.

"We need to increase energy supplies by 3 to 4 times over the next decade. We eed to bridge gap between demand and supply; encouraging firms to explore oil and gas in stable policy regime," he said.

"India is committed to reducing its carbon footprint," he added.
