Samajwadi Party to hold rally in Jhansi today

Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will be holding a rally in Jhansi on Saturday.

The rally comes after the UP government faced severe criticism for spending crores of rupees on its annual 'Saifai Mahotsav' when Muzaffarnagar riot victims were living in difficult circumstances in relief camps.

The UP CM defended the decision to hold 'Saifai Mahotsav' and claimed that the festival gives a major boost to tourism in Uttar Pradesh.

He also cancelled his plans to attend the premier of 'Dedh Ishqiya' movie with Bollywood actress Madhur Dikshit and other dignitaries.
