Ex-SC judge rubbishes law intern's sexual harassment allegations

Former Supreme Court judge Justice Swatanter Kumar has denied the allegations of sexual harassment levelled against him by a law intern.

Justice Kumar was quoted as saying by a leading English daily that the allegations against him were false and totally incorrect.

He asked the media not to publish the affidavit filed by the former law intern, saying it may have serious consequences.

Justice Kumar, who is also the chairman of the National Green Tribunal, also denied remembering the intern. She didnt intern with me. At least, I dont even remember if she was my intern. We have so many interns, he said.

The intern has filed an affidavit before the apex court, demanding an SC-led inquiry into the allegations. The girl alleged the incident took place when he was a sitting judge of the Supreme Court.
