Delhi woman boxer falls off train in scuffle with robber

A woman boxer was seriously injured when she fell off a moving train following a scuffle with a robber in Uttar Pradesh`s Faizabad district. She has been shifted to New Delhi for better treatment, said authorities Friday.

The Delhi-based woman boxer took on the robber Wednesday night, but fell from Farakka Express. She was shifted to New Delhi late Thursday for treatment.

Simran Verma was injured late Wednesday when she fell from the moving train in Faizabad in a scuffle with the robber who tried to snatch her bag and flee, Government Railway Oolice said Friday.

She confronted the robber and in the scuffle that ensued, she fell from the train and seriously injured her legs.

The incident took place near the Modha railway crossing on the outskirts of Faizabad.
