Our sources in Delhi tell us there was a huge buzz when Priyanka Gandhi made a guest appearance at an AICC sub-committee meeting. After the meeting, an insider sent a text messge to a journalist about Priyanka's presence which spread like wildfire.
So, when the meeting was in progress, Congress spokesperson Janardhan Dwivedi got numerous phone calls from a mother-brother duo that Dwivedi should hold a press meet to clarify Priyanka's presence.
Meanwhile, the Congress old guard, AK Antony, Ambika Soni, Motilal Vora and Ghulam Nabi Azad are believed to be thrilled at having received phone calls from the Office of the Vice President of Congress party.
The fear that the old guards will be sacked is what makes the phone calls from Rahul Gandhi so important.
