J&K Legislative Council issues summons to V.K. Singh

The privilege committee of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council on Thursday issued summons through Director General of Haryana Police to the former Army Chief Gen (retired) VK Singh seeking his presence for his clarification to a television interview, on January 22.

The Hindu reports that ruling National Conference MLC and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's confidante Devinder Singh Rana, who has moved the motion along with two other NC members and is a member of the upper House privilege panel, said that the meeting took serious note of Gen Singh's absence. Singh had been summoned and directed to appear with his clarifications on January 9.
