Karnataka strongman Yeddyurappa rejoins BJP
January 02, 2014  20:46
Former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa on Thursday formally rejoined the BJP.

Yeddyurappa  had earlier said that his return was for the larger interest of the country and for the party's prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi.

He said the Karnataka Janatha Party will merge with the BJP and the two parties will fight the "Lok Sabha polls" together.

Yeddyurappa had walked out of the BJP in a huff in July 2011, ending a 40-year-old association with the party, after the party top brass forced him to resign from the chief minister's post over allegations of corruption.
