Scrapping of VIP chopper deal won't absolve govt: BJP
January 01, 2014  21:16
The BJP today claimed its campaign against the government on the AugustaWestland chopper deal has led to the cancellation of the order but said this would not absolve the government of its "wrongdoings".

"This is a victory of the BJP's sustained campaign against corruption of the Congress-led UPA government. Cancellation of the deal will not absolve the government of its wrong-doings because three helicopters have already been delivered and in case compensation has to be paid, the country will have to pay the damages," BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.
