Kolkata gangrape victim's father writes to Guv, seeks security

In a letter written to West Bengal Governor M K Narayanan, the father of the Kolkata gangrape victim has sought protection for his family members.

The girl, who had been gangraped twice, died of burn injuries sustained during a suicide attempt. 

In the letter, the victim's father also blamed the Kolkata police's inaction and the indifference of the doctors at R G Kar Hospital in the matter.

Her further alleged that Kolkata police had asked him to leave the state and return to Bihar with his daughter's body.

"The police officials threatened me and asked me to leave the state and return to Bihar with the body. The police officials and some local thugs also threatened me that if I did not do so, they would stop me from driving my taxi," said the victim's father.
