LIVE! AAP: EC should monitor, NOT ban opinion polls
February 26, 2014  16:55
AAP leader Yogendra Yadav holds a press conference slamming opinion polls. The press conference is in reaction to a sting operation which showed that companies are willing to accept bribes to manipulate their findings, which suggess that pre-election opionion polls have a purpose other than helping the voter make an informed choice. The sting showed a media house asking the poll company to manipulate results.

At the presser today, Yadav says that media houses need to introspect. "The dark side of the media is exposed and the entire raw data must be available to experts," he said.

"We request the Election Commission to regulate, but not ban opinion polls. Meda houses must reveal ownership patterns," said Yadav, who was flanked by Arvind Kejriwal and Prashant Bhushan.

This is what the sting showed.
