In what will come as a big blow to Lalu Prasad Yadav, at least 13 MLAs of his RJD are likely to quit the party and join rival Nitish Kumar's JDU. The MLAs have written to the Bihar Assembly speaker saying they want to quit the party.

In October last year, former Bihar chief minister and RJD leader Rabri Devi had claimed that the party is united and people of Bihar are with Lalu Prasad while hinting that the Congress, Ram Vilas Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party and her party will fight elections together.

Even though Rabri, who is looking after the party affairs after Lalu was jailed following his conviction in a fodder scam case, admitted that the party has been hit by Lalu's sentencing and jail term, she added that her husband has been framed and will get justice from the higher courts.

Lalu, who was convicted in a fodder scam case, was given bail in December last year after months in jail.
