Kerala High Court today admitted the appeal filed by 12 accused, including three local CPI(M) leaders, convicted and sentenced to undergo life imprisonment in the murder of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan.

The accused had been convicted and sentenced by Special Additional Sessions court at Kozhikode in January this year.

A division bench comprising Justices K T Sankaran and P Ubaid admitted the appeal.

The court posted the appeal filed by Lambo Pradeepan, who was sentenced to three years under Sect 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) to Wednesday.

The other petitions would be taken up later, the court said.

The accused contended there was no evidence to implicate them in the case and said the court has believed the entire prosecution version, disregarding the fact that the witnesses were 'bogus'.

They also alleged alleged that some of the witnesses were RSS and Revolutionary Marxist Party activists.
