Rahul is a late entrant in anti-corruption crusade: BJP
February 22, 2014  13:54
"Rahul Gandhi is a very late entrant in the anti-corruption crusaders bandwagon," senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley stated at a press conference on Saturday.

"And not a genuine entrant," quipped Sushma Swaraj.

Stung by Gandhi's recent comments -- that the BJP had betrayed the government by refusing to cooperate over anti-corruption bills -- Jaitley claimed that the Congress vice-president was merely "posturing".

"Why was he quiet for the last ten years in Parliament over the issue of corruption? Now, on the last day of Parliament, he decided to appropriate the issue of corruption," said Jaitley.

He pointed out that Gandhi had not spoken up even when the Congress-led UPA government kept on getting embroiled in massive corruption scams like 2G, chopper scam and cash-for-vote.
