Youth killed by militants in Sopore

Mukhtar Ahmad reports from Srinagar: Unidentified militants shot at and killed a youth in north Kashmir's Sopore town today evening.

A senior police officer said militants fired at Wasim Ahmad Malla, 23, in Krankshivan area of Sopore town from a close range.

"Wasim was critically wounded and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries," the officer said.

Security forces immediately rushed to the area and they are currently conducting searches.
