Hate mail, live bullet sent to Indian embassy in Italy, MEA asks for security
February 21, 2014  16:20
The incident is seen as the fallout of the Italian Mariners' issue, which has sparked a row between India and Italy. The Italian government had expressed its displeasure at the delay in the trial of the two Italian sailors, Massimiliano Latorre and Salvatore Girone, who are accused of killing two Indian fishermen in Kerala in 2012.

According to the sources, the Indian embassy has been getting hate mails - sometimes even 100 mails a week - on the issue for the past two years now. However, this was the first time a bullet was sent.
