The first statement from the PM after the Jayalalithaa government's decision to release Rajiv Gandhi's killers.

Dr Manmohan Singh said that Rajiv Gandhi's assassination was an attack on the soul of the nation. The proposal by the TN government to release the seven people responsible for the killing is not legally tenable and should not be proceeded with.
