The students at the Osmania university who had become the face of the Telangana movement are overjoyed. Several of them had even been camping in New Delhi awaiting the passage of the Bill.

The Student's Joint Action Committee, which launched every protest from the Osmania university say they are thrilled that the bill was finally passed.

JAC leader, Dr Sangam Prithviraj, told Rediff.com, "It's a great day today but I will not give the credit to politicians. The credit should go to the students and all those who have lost their lives in this battle. It has been a continuous struggle but we have protested peacefully. The people of Telangana never took the life of others. They only took their own lives."
