BJP praises Narasimha Rao
February 15, 2014  19:06
Former prime minister P V Narsimha Rao today received praise from the BJP, which lauded him for the economic reforms he had kick-started in 1991 and suggested that the job of reforms would have been more difficult for him than it was for Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

BJP leader Arun Jaitley said recent history has not been kind to Rao, who is largely credited with ushering in the era of privatisation and limiting government control of the economy, and the "good turning point" in the economy came when he became PM after the "wasted" 70s and 80s.
