Shooting reported inside Atlanta supermarket

Two people have been hospitalized after a lunchtime shooting at the Kroger grocery store in Lawrenceville, police said. Police have arrested one individual in connection with the shooting, authorities said.

 

A report of a double shooting was called in to police from the store at 422 Grayson Highway at 12:11 p.m., Lawrenceville police spokesman Lawrenceville Capt. Greg Vaughn told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

 

Police are on scene and have cordoned off the entrance to the store, and some witnesses fled to the back of the store '" even into the store freezers '" to escape gunfire, Channel 2 Action News is reporting. Some store employees remained outside the store more than an hour after the shooting, according to Channel 2.
