Live! Pranab raps MPs: Parl is Gangotri of democracy, don't pollute it

President Pranab Mukherjee sent out a strong message to Parliamentarians over frequent disruptions. He said that the Parliament is the Gangotri of democracy, if the Gangotri is polluted, how can Ganga be clean.

This seems to have fallen on deaf ears, however, with both houses of Parliament adjourned till noon over the Telangana issue.

The president also said that ll stakeholders must introspect on Parliament's functioning and follow convention and rules. Parliament's function is to debate, dissent and decideand not get disrupted, he said.
