Bomb scare on board flight to Turkey

An international flight landed safely at a airport in Turkey today after a bomb scare on board.

One of the passengers reportedly claimed there was a bomb on board and demanded that the plane head to Sochi in Russia, where the Winter Olympics are taking place.

"While the plane was in the air, one of the passengers said that there was a bomb on board and asked the plane to not land in Sabiha Gokcen (in Turkey) but rather to land in Sochi," CNN quoted transportation ministry official Habip Soluk as saying.

The Winter Olympics are taking place amid unprecedented security arrangement.
