Adivasi school teacher Soni Sori can now visit Chhattisgarh

Adivasi school teacher Soni Sori, who was granted bail by the Supreme Court in November 2013, can now visit Chhattisgarh. Soni was arrested in 2011 on allegations that she had Naxal connections. Sori was released along with her nephew, journalist Lingaram Kodopi. The SC had granted bail on the condition that she would not visit Chhattisgarh.

The Chhattishgarh government had objected to their release, but the top court pointed out that others accused in the case had been given bail.
