To apologise or not to apologise, is the question
February 03, 2014  11:22
At a time when claims and counter-claims for apology (be it for the 1984 riots or the 2002 ones) are being made, journalist Rahul Pandita writes an anguished piece in The Hindu, why an apology cannot be absolution as there is no concept of absolution in the modern criminal justice system.

So, he suggests, 'let us stop asking for apologies. Let us begin by demanding that those accused of involvement in the 1984 killings be brought to justice. Let us begin from the other end of 2013 as well. Let us put the nails of Muzaffarnagar in Mr. Akhilesh Yadav's path; let us force him to get down from his Mercedes cycle.'
