The Delhi high court has taken suo motu cognisance of the killing of an Arunachal Pradesh student who was allegedly beaten by some shopkeepers.

The HC has asked the Centre, the Delhi government and police to file a report on the incident, detailing steps taken for the safety of people from north-east staying in the capital.
