Goa Speaker rubbishes allegations in land deal case

Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Rajendra Arlekar today refuted allegations of disproportionate assets levelled against him by a social activist in connection with the purchase of a plot of land.

Arlekar told media personnel that the money has been paid through a proper source to buy the plot.

The anti-corruption cell of Goa police has started an inquiry into the matter, based on a complaint filed earlier by social activist Aires Rodrigues against the Speaker.
