Oldest litigant in Babri Masjid case dies

The oldest litigant in the Babri masjid case in Supreme Court, Mohammad Farooq, passed away due to old-age related ailments in Faizabad. He was 100, reports PTI


Farooq was buried at a grave yard close to the disputed site. Farooq's father, Mohammad Zahur, was one of the original complainant regarding the placing of the idols of Lord Rama in Babri Masjid in December 1949.

Uttar Pradesh's Additional Advocate General and convenor of Babri Masjid Action Committee, Zafaryab Jilani, told that Mohammad Saleem, the eldest son of late Farooq, may inherit his legacy of the case and may become litigant in place of his father.
