BJP's Raghubar Das to be Jharkhand's first non-tribal CM
December 26, 2014  12:00
Raghubar Das will be the next chief minister of Jharkhand, the first non-tribal leader in the state to hold the post. The Jharkhand BJP today elected Das as its leader.

The BJP and its ally, the All Jharkhand Students' Union, had won the state elections, bagging 42 seats in the 81-member assembly.

Das, 59, a former deputy chief minister and BJP vice president, had been a frontrunner for the top job after former CM Arjun Munda lost the elections from his stronghold Kharsawan.
