Modi nominates Ganguly, Mumbai Dabbawalas for 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'

To commemorate Good Governance Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Assi Ghat in Varanasi where he conducted a cleanliness drive.

Asserting that the entire nation had responded to his 'Swachh Bharat' call, Modi said: "I especially thank the people of Varanasi and voluantary organisations for bringing back the beauty of these ghats."

Thereafter, the PM nominated Nagaland Governor, Kiran Bedi, Sonal Man Singh, Kapil Sharma, Saurav Ganguly, ETV group of Andhra Pradesh and Ramoji Rao, Arun Purie and India Today group, ICAI, Mumbai Dabbawalas for 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'.

Earlier in the day, Modi paid floral tributes to Pt Madan Mohan Malaviya at the Banaras Hindu University.
