PM to inaugurate Indian Science Congress in Mumbai on Jan 3

Prime Minister Narendra Modi isscheduled to inaugurate the 102nd Indian Science Congress hereon January 3, it was officially announced here today.

Nobel laureates, noted scientists as well as academics of global repute are scheduled to participate in the event hosted by Mumbai university.

The theme of the event, which will conclude on January 7 is, 'Science and Technology for Human Development'. The inaugural session and main sessions would be held at the Kalina campus of the Mumbai University.

It is expected that the five-day gathering would be attended by around 12,000 delegates, he said.

The last time the event was held in Mumbai was in 1969.
